Blunt Cases Stand Against Plastic Pollution
Plastic pollution is one of the main contributing factors to the growth of land fills across the globe. According to plasticoceans, a leading organization in the battle against plastic pollution, more than 300 million tons of plastic are produced every year. This number is only increasing yearly, and of that staggering figure nearly 400 million pounds are used to manufacture billions of plastic phone cases....a year.
That means that nearly .07% of all plastic is produced for phone cases.
That number may seem insignificant, however it's the simple things that make the biggest differences. By purchasing a biodegradable phone case you become part of the solution, not the problem.
What makes our phone cases biodegradable?
Unlike plastic phone cases which will take millions of years to degrade, our biodegradable phone cases take approximately 1 single year in a warm, moist, and microorganism friendly environment.
What is the Biodegradable Blunt Case Made of?
90% of the biodegradable phone case is made from Polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) and 10% is made out of Polylactic acid (PLA).
What does this mean exactly? Well those components include: soil (30%), onions (7.5%), carrots (7.5%), pepper (7.5%), sawdust (1.5%), rice (18%), soybeans (18%), and wheat (10%). These organic fibers are artificially fabricated into a plastic-like composite that won't clog up the Earth's surface for millions of years.
Environmentally Sustainable Shipping
It wouldn't make much sense to praise a carbon footprint conscious biodegradable phone case while shipping said phone case in plastic. For that reason Blunt has decided to package our eco-friendly case in a degradable and protective CPE 07 bag. These bags are made of recycled paper which helps to further reduce our impact on the environment. Blunt has also decided to ship our cases in a carton box.
Take a Stand W/ Blunt Cases
and be bold in your decision to help the planet and our future generations by switching over to biodegradable blunt cases.
